My deepest sympathies to Margie's family and loved ones. Mrs McDermott was my kindergarten teacher, and by far my favorite. I learned so much from her, not only in school but in life. Her relentless fight against cancer taught me and many others to never give up, because every day holds something special. Margie was very special to me and my family and she will be greatly missed.

Hello, Ray, Luke and Mara! What great memories Margie brings to mind. We shared so much about teaching Kindergarten. Loved getting together with Margie whether it was at a class where we were inspired with new ideas for teaching or a Mary Kay facial. Her support and encouragement always inspired me. To all of you.......my thoughts and prayers are with you! And Luke....congratulations on your marriage! I'm so happy for you. Love, Mary and Bill Bloom

Dear Ray, Luke & Maura & Family, You have my deepest condolences in the loss of Margie. I remember her smile and how upbeat she was at church in Petersville. She was a teacher to Amy, my sister, at Delwood. Amy enjoyed her classroom and learned a great deal. Ray, as you told my siblings and I regarding our Dad, just think of the reunion she is having in heaven! May God grant you comfort, Maureen Watters-Strobl (John Watters' daughter)

Dear Ray, Maura and Luke, I first met Margie as John's pesky, pig-tailed, little sister when John and I were in grade school. Later, we ended up in the same classes at Marycrest, then we did our student teaching together in Parkview. Our friendship continued when we taught together in Delwood, sharing rides and chatting continuously on our rides to and from school. Even after I moved out of state, we kept in contact. One summer when I was visiting, she took me on a tour of the remodeled elementary building in Delmar. We were surprised to see the local constable pull up in the police car! When we came around a corner and met him face-to-face in the dark building, we gasped... then all three realized that we had set off the burglar alarm! Quite the excitement for a lazy summer night in Delmar! Marge and I laughed all the way home - what dangerous bandits we were! Marge was always up for a joke. Once on April Fool's Day, she taped my classroom door shut - I mean SHUT - with me inside! She used layers of duct tape and that door would NOT open! I panicked for just a minute till I heard her giggling on the other side! She did let me out...eventually! She loved life. And, oh, how she loved YOU! She was so proud of her children and completely in love with her husband. I miss her. Love to you all.

Our son had Margie as a student at Delwood. She was a wonderful, caring teacher. As a woman, I always truely admired her strength, very much a person I admired, and prayed for often. We all know how much of a fighter she was, never giving up, not until she thought it would be ok. She will truely be missed, and always thought of with a smile.

Margie was very special to me. When she was little I would babysit her. She was very independent and very smart. I loved her like a sister. I will miss her alot. She is with the JACKSON FIVE now. I know she will keep everything in order up there in Heaven. She will have it all ready for the rest of us when we come. I have many memories of us together when we were younger before we grew up, got married, had kids, and had to get a job. She was the best, I will never forget her, Jean

Margie will always be one of my dearest friends. She would do anything for you. She always could give you the right advise and had such kind things to say. She was also a very humble person. I feel that now I have an Angel looking out for all of us. I also have so many wonderful memories of the times we have shared together that I will always have. Margie will live through all of us as she has taught us kindness, caring and a love for others and for God. Her teaching was extraordinary. She always could tell you another way to reach children at all levels. She loved teaching and always looked for new ways to help the children at all levels. I loved having conversations with her about teaching and know that now I will have her sharing those ideas with me in the classroom. Margie, thanks for being my friend and your love will always stay close to my heart. See you soon and love always.
