Doug Schultz has been a licensed funeral director since 1969. He attended Clarinda Community College and is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Mortuary Science Program.
He and his wife Pat purchased the former Kelly Funeral Home in Grand Mound in 1975, and the former McGinnis Funeral Home in DeWitt in 1981.
Doug enjoys collecting antique tractors and going to auctions, fairs, and tractorcades. He and his wife, Pat, have two daughters, Sarah and Diane,sons-in-law, Ray and Paul, four grandsons, Raymond, Brandon,Kyle and Bryce and granddaughter, Elyse. He also enjoys the time he spends with his grandchildren.
He is a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grand Mound.
Pat Schultz is the wife of Doug Schultz, owners of Schultz Funeral Homes. Pat takes care of the office duties, and you will see her smiling face often greeting people.
She has two daughters, Sarah and Diane, sons-in-law, Ray and Paul, and the joys of her life, her grandchildren, Raymond, Brandon, Kyle, Bryce and Elyse.
She enjoys spending time with her family, especially her mother, Lucille, who recently moved to Grace Towers in DeWitt, and her grandchildren.
In her spare time, you'll find her with one of her grandchildren, playing or having ice cream, and cherishes the summer months when she likes to camp with her family.
She is a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grand Mound.
Ray Ackerman was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, and almost ever since he can remember, he's wanted to be a Funeral Director. Ray grew up in Wisconsin, and actually began helping around a funeral home when he was 12 years old. He was licensed as a Funeral Director/Embalmer following his graduation from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in December of 1987. Ray is married to the former Sarah Schultz and the couple have two sons, Raymond, III, age 18 and Kyle, age 14.
Sarah Ackerman is the daughter of Doug and Pat Schultz and wife of Ray Ackerman. She is a full time mom, but helps out with office work from time to time.
She has two sons, Raymond and Kyle. She enjoys family time, scrapbooking, crafting, and is a Longaberger Basket and Close To My Heart Stamp and Scrap Book Consultant.
JJ Erickson joined Schultz Funeral Homes in 2010. He is a graduate of the Worsham College of Mortuary near Chicago. JJ and his wife Jeannette are members of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grand Mound.
Jeannette joined Schultz Funeral Homes in 2010. She grew up in Muscatine, Iowa. Jeannette is a graduate of the Mortuary Science Program at Des Moines Area Community College. She and her husband Jay are members of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grand Mound.
Patricia has been a Visitation Assistant at Schultz Funeral Homes since 2001.
She has a daughter, Bridget and is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt.
Tom J. Casad
Tom J. Casad has been a Funeral Assistant with the Schultz Funeral Homes since 1993.
He and his wife Linda reside at Rural Grand Mound, where Tom farms. The couple have a daughter, son-in-law, and two grandsons residing in DeWitt, and a son, daughter-in-law, and a grandson, residing in North Carolina.
He is a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, DeWitt.
David Schanze has been a funeral assistant with Schultz Funeral Homes since 1999.
He and his wife Mary Ann reside in Grand Mound. The couple have two sons, a daughter, and son-in-law. He is a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Grand Mound where he is an elder.
He enjoys cooking, traveling, fishing, and gardening.
