Your mother was our back yard neighbor when she lived in DeWitt - she was such a sweet woman and we would visit over the back yard fence.  Once when I was gone and it was going to rain she came over and took all my dry clothes off the line and left in the basket on my back porch. My sympathies to you all.

To all of my great cousins. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.  I have so many great memories of spending time at your house as kids.  Your Mom always treated us as one of her own kids.  I remember Mom and Dad going to dances with your folks.   They had a lot of great stories to tell!  Now they can catch up on all of those good stories.  I'm sorry we were out of town for the funeral.  We were gone all week to Savannah, Ga. I missed seeing you all and listening to the memories I'm sure you shared.  Take care. Love and prayers to all of you.

Dear Jack, Judy, Sue, Dick and Families,

You are all in my thoughts. Your folks were a most incredible couple and I have so many good memories of family gatherings and happy Sunday visits to your home when we were kids.  I also have fond memories of visiting your folks when they lived on the church grounds.  And it was always fun to see Marcella when she moved to town.  She was living alone but always seemed to be baking a feast!  We are all blest to have had her in our lives. I know you will miss her deeply!
So sorry for your loss.     Teresa

Jackie, Judy, Sue & Dick,
Reading Marcella's obituary leads me to reminisce about the family get togethers at your farm when I was a young child.  Those seemed like wild times, rambling around with so many cousins with age differences of 15 years or more.  And somehow being aware that the adults were enjoying their time together, but I was curious as to how that could be when all they were doing was sitting inside the house visiting.
Marcella made the curtains for the 2 homes we had in DeWitt.  It was always so nice to randomly bump into Marcella on the streets of DeWitt.  I was always happier after seeing Marcella.  What great parents you had. Say, Suzie, do you play the accordian?
Love, Joe

Thinking of you!  Many wonderful memories of your mother.  I loved her!!  She was fun and pro active.  Playing her Accordian and organ, singing songs.  She was very close to my mother and the memories are all fantastic.  I would come home to Iowa and visit her every June because she always had fresh raspberries.  She was an amazing woman.
SENDING LOVE AND LIGHT TO YOU ALL.  Peggy O'Meara

My sympathy goes out to the family of Marcella,I have known Marcella since I married Wayne Banowetz in 1961. Wayne and I lived on the Ollie Roeder farm for5 years just south of Petersville church till we bought a farm south of Bellevue. I now live in Bellevue and worked at Mill Valley where your mother was. I talked to her about when I lived by Petersville and about Ed&Marie Banowetz. At that time she seemed to kinda remembered me,especially when she was at the Villa. I retired from Mill Valley several years ago but did talk to Jack& Judy different times. Your family has my deepest sympathy.

Dearest Friends:  I still open and shut my drapes every day that were lovingly made by Marcella.  As they are certainly aging, I smiled just yesterday and thought of her and wished she would be able to help me out by repairing a small worn spot.   A wonderful lady!! Truly gracious and kind to all.  My love and sympathy to her family.

My cousin Haidi Burmeister called to let me know about your Mom.  My thoughts and prayers are with you during your time of loss.  I had known your mom my entire life.  Our families shared many great memories living in the Welton area all those many years ago.  I last saw your mom at my mom's funeral in 2008.  Aunt Margaret brought her.  God bless you all.  Eternal rest grant unto your mom and dad.

Please accept my deepest sympathy.  I have so many memories of your mom from the Petersville days.   Leonard & Marcella were good friends with my folks and they knew how to have a great time.  Loved how Marcella was able to share some funny stories about my dad with me that I will always cherish.  So glad your mom and dad are back together now.  I'll bet there were a lot of the Petersville gang there to greet her!

Please accept my sincere sympathy at the passing of your dear Mother.  She was such a kind and lovely lady. She tended the grounds around the church with such love.  She will be missed but has certainly left her mark on many people in her journey here on earth.
