We're so very sorry to hear about the loss of your Mother, Keith. After reading her obituary we were so impressed by the full life she lead. What didn't she accomplish? You must have been very proud of her. Her memory will live on in all those she touched. That's quite a legacy! RIP Clara.

Thanks for your kind words Gary and Annette.
She was quite a lady that could always find some way or some hobby to keep herself busy and active. And she always encouraged me to do the same - "Do it now while you can" were a few of her favorite words to me.

To Clara's Family -- I am so sorry for your loss. I started as a new nurse working with Clara at Mercy Hospital in 1983 on the night shift. I have to be honest and say in the beginning I really did not like working with her. She was tough. But she made sure I learned what nursing is about and how to take good care of the patients. After a few months we became great co-workers and good friends. She was a huge part of making me the nurse I am today and I will be forever grateful. The two of us could take care of the whole unit full of patients every night. I always enjoyed hearing about her family. She was so proud of her kids and grandkids. And she loved her golf and fishing. Those times were some of the best of my nursing career. It was a sad day when she retired from Mercy Hospital. I sincerely hope your wonderful memories will help to replace your sorrow. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Thank You Lynne.
You are certainly right about our mother being more than a bit stubborn and set in her ways at times. But she usually had a good reason, even if we didn't know what it was. I am glad to hear that she was a great nurse and helped you get started in your nursing career.
Her son, Keith

I bowled with Clara on the Friday league in DeWitt. She was a very nice lady. She will be missed. Prayers to her family.

Thank you Brenda.
My mother sure loved her bowling. I would check with her every week to see how she had done and she was always so happy to make her average. And those bowling trips were so important to her.

Thank you Linda.
You are so right about it being hard to lose a parent - still working thru that and I expect it will take a long time.
Dicks sons and Pat Hayes showed up at the Memorial on Tuesday and so glad they did. I wish we had gotten the word out better so maybe more could have shown up. Unfortunate that some of us can only get together at events such as these.
Take Care,
Her son, Keith
