Norma Lorraine (Anderson) Soenksen

Norma L. Soenksen, 90, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away July 2, 2016, at Westwing Place, DeWitt.

Norma Lorraine Soenksen was born November 18, 1925, to Louis and Emma Anderson in DeWitt. She married Willis Soenksen on August 4, 1946, in Maquoketa. They resided in the Clinton and Princeton areas. Willis preceded her in death on June 5, 1982.

She enjoyed block and yo-yo quilting and spending time with her grandchildren.

Norma is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tonia and Vern Dirksen, and daughter-in-law, Karen Soenksen, all of Princeton; grandsons, Josh and Nic Dirksen, and Ben (Ann) Soenksen; granddaughters, Amanda Dirksen, and Emily (David) Gwin.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Paul; an infant son, Martin; two brothers and two sisters.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30 - 10:45a.m. at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt on Wednesday, July 6, 2016. A Service Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home, with Pastor Kurt Larson of Risen Christ Church Davenport, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.

Pallbearers will be Josh Dirksen, Nic Dirksen, Ben Soenksen, Amanda Dirksen and Emily and David Gwin. Ann Soenksen will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
