To the Ryan family,
Condolences to all of you. Visits to Mary and Joe, along with her sister Teresa, were always memorable, with a wonderful sense of humor and tradition. We hope thinking of your mother joining family members in heaven
brings you peace. From Mike and Mary Goodall

Thinking of Mary brings back a flood of great memories. I lived in Joe & Mary's basement for a few months when I took my first principal job at Welton and Grand Mound. I really enjoyed our talks. Mary & Joe will always be special people to me.

I wanted to pass on our condolences to the Ryan family for their loss. After reading Aunt Mary's obituary, it is very clear that she lived her entire life with great caring, discipline and a constant desire to help others. I was very impressed by all that she accomplished and by her enduring acumen. She certainly set a good example for everyone.

Colleen had mentioned, in a text message informing us of Aunt Mary's passing, that it is sad to realize this generation of the McDermott siblings are now all departed. I feel the same way. Seems to be solace, however, in knowing that they are all together again.

We wish the Ryan family the best and want them to know that our thoughts and sympathies are with them.

Many fun memories growing up and spending time out at the Ryans' farm
with Teresa. Remember being scared to death the first time I heard Joe
hollering up to the boys for chores in the morning. Good Irish people.
Sorry for your loss.

To the Ryan family - I am so sorry for your loss, but so thankful for all the kindness I received from both of your parents. When I moved to DeWitt they welcomed me into their home, made sure I got to know my way around the community. Your mother taught me to play bridge which led to other wonderful memories and relationships with the bridge club. Your mother was an amazing lady who had a life well lived. I am so sorry that the distance and the timing doesn't allow me to pay my respects in person. Please accept my sympathy.

I so remember fun times at the Ryan place - we would go with Mom & Dad (Mary Margaret & Pat McDermott) to spend time with cousins. I know Mom & Dad treasured time with Mary & Joe. Loving memories to all the Ryans.

I am sorry for your loss. She was a great lady, who loved unconditionally, so generous, left Sherry live with them when she was doing her physical therapy training in Davenport, and always had a kind word for us. And now she's continuing to work for each of you. Prayers for strength to endure and power to heal. Great picture. Love Delores
