I am saddened to know that Doug has passed away. As I was viewing the obituary site for several other people who have passed on, I came across Doug's and want to send my condolences. Many fond memories of the Cornbelt League games between Grand Mound and Calamus, along with having a few beers along the way with Doug. No doubt he will be missed by family and his many friends. My best regards, Craig Meier

My prayers and sympathy for all of Doug's family. What a good man with a kind heart. Lots of good memories; my parents would take me to watch Doug play baseball--we were all so proud. And he was an usher in my wedding to David Bakehouse.
We can only imagine the loving welcome back into Heaven with family waiting to embrace him.
Kind wishes for comfort. God bless, Sylvia

Before moving to Arizona at age 7, Doug, Janelle and I had lots of fun together exploring our farms and sometimes getting into mischief . As a grownup it was always great to visit him and Myerne.
I will miss him ! Doug and his siblings are double cousins to me, Trudy and Linda. I am so sorry for the family's loss.

While it has been about 40 years since we moved from Calamus, we have stayed in touch with several in the community. We cherish the memories of our time there and the people who came into our lives from Calamus--many of them the parents of the athletes Steve coached. Sending thoughts, prayers, and hugs to the Henning family.
