Tim “Jake” Jaques, Sr. 68, of Grand Mound, Iowa, passed away peacefully in his home, Sunday, June 11, 2023.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life will be held Thursday, June 15, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Schultz Funeral Home in DeWitt.
Tim Allen “Jake” Jaques was born July 2, 1954, to Lovell, Sr. and Katherine (Jaquet) Jaques in Princeton, Illinois. Jake was raised in DeWitt, Iowa, where he attended high school. In his early years he worked for the City of DeWitt, and later for United Manor.
Jake was a skilled woodworker. Every member of his family has an example of his talented workmanship that they received as Christmas, wedding, birthday, and anniversary gifts. He enjoyed watching the Cubs, movies, gardening, yardwork, riding his motorcycle (even as a double leg amputee), golfing, and coaching baseball. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed attending their events.
He is survived by his children, Tim (Angie) Jaques, Jr., of LeClaire, Jon (Susan) Jaques of Clinton, Tad (Heather) Jaques of DeWitt; grandchildren, Brody, Peyton, Grant, Scott, Calvin, Isla, and Evelyn; siblings, Lovell (Carolyn) Jaques, Jr., and Jan (Dan Lindsay) Mangan; special family members, Tom Mangan, and Linda Jaques; his best friend, Mark Cleveland; and the mother of his children, Vonda Jaques; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his infant twin brother, Terry, his parents, and his infant granddaughter, Cora.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of Tim Jaques, Jr.
