Thom Hauck, 74, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 4, 2026, in his home.
Thomas Lee Hauck was born June 19, 1951, in Ft. Madison, Iowa, to David and Shirley (Burdette) Hauck. He graduated from Ft. Madison High School in 1969. Thom was married to Nancy Brown, with whom he had a son, Brian. She preceded him in death. He was then married to Jane Waranka for several years, together they had a daughter, Danielle. Thom worked as a mechanical engineer at DuPont/Clysar until retirement.
Thom was a talented artist, creating many detailed drawings over the years. He enjoyed older cars and motorcycles and took great interest in coin collecting.
Surviving are his children, Brian Hauck of Urbana, Iowa, and Danielle (Jordan) Allender of DeWitt; 5 grandchildren, Hannah, Kaylee, twins Aurora and Emersyn, and Jeremiah; brothers, Dave and Chris; a brother-in-law, Paul Crutchfield nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Nancy, and a sister, Pam Crutchfield.
Cremation has been entrusted to Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. A Funeral Service will be held at 9:00 a.m. Friday, January 30, 2026, at St Lukes Episcopal Church. Burial will follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Ft. Madison.
