Therese Ann (Wheeler) Green

Therese Ann (Mrs. Eldon) Green, 88, of DeWitt, Iowa passed away Friday, August 20, 2021, at Wheatland Manor, Wheatland.

Therese was born September 6, 1932, to Lester and Leone (Boddicker) Wheeler in Atkins, Iowa. After graduating from Newhall High School, and later Briar Cliff College, in Souix City, Iowa, Therese taught kindergarten in Calamus. She married Eldon Green on November 26, 1955, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Newhall. She was a 4-H leader, Religious Ed Teacher, as well as a farm wife and mother to 11 children. Eldon preceded her in death in 1999.

Survivors include children, Carol (Dennis) Eckelberg of DeWitt, Albert (Dawn) Green of Grand Mound, Larry (Carol) Green of Bettendorf, Mary (Bill) Hickle of Surprise, AZ, Victor (Dawn) Green of Grand Mound, Michelle (Steve) Bost of Reynolds, IL, Don (Ann) Green of DeWitt, Kathryn (Rodney) Haack of DeWitt, Karen (Dan) Burke of DeWitt, Dan (Stacy) Green of Calamus; 49 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; a sister Mary Johnson of Newhall; sisters-in-law, Joyce Wheeler of Newhall, Alice Ann Green of Wheatland, and Mary Lee Green of DeWitt; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Joel, a brother, Don Wheeler, brothers-in-law, Leonard Green and Jerry Johnson.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at Sts. Philip & James Catholic Church, Grand Mound. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 25, 2021, in the church, the Rev. Fr. Jason Crossen and Deacon Mike Sheil officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Grand Mound.
