Theodore Fox Obituary

Theodore Henry Fox was born October 27, 2001.  Theodore was the youngest of four boys born into the loving home of Doyle and Lisa (Kinney) Fox.  He died tragically in the early hours of December 12, 2024, at the age of 23.  He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Faith at Sts. Philip & James Catholic Church in Grand Mound, Iowa. Theodore graduated in 2020 from Central DeWitt Community High School. He was proud of the work he did for Quint City Stone Center in Davenport, where he was employed.

Theodore lived a tremendous life.  Having entered into a loud, chaotic family of three older brothers and countless cousins, Theodore didn’t need to go far for entertainment, enjoying the Iowa Hawkeyes, Kansas City Chiefs, and wrestling.  Instead of adding to the raucous, Theodore was often quiet and reserved.  He liked being friendly and getting to know people, but he wasn’t going to talk someone’s ear off.  One of his greatest qualities was his openness to everyone.  He didn’t care who people voted for, what religion they claimed, or where they came from, he just accepted everyone for who they were.  Along with being a loyal son, trusting brother, and fun uncle, Theodore was also a wonderful father to his son, Bennett.

If you opened Theo’s Big Book, you would find his handwritten note with this question, “How can I be of service to God today?” This was something he reflected on. It’s no longer a question for him, but his final wish would be for you to ponder it for yourself, “How can I be of service to God today?”

He is survived by his parents, Doyle and Lisa; three brothers, Zach (Amy) Fox, Joshua (Morgan) Fox, and Creighton Fox; his son, Bennett, and his son’s mother Brianna Kent; nieces and nephews, Delilah, Nona, Madeleine, Louden, Hayden, and Sloan. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is welcomed into the next life by his grandparents, Virtus and Opal Fox, and Clarence and Grace Kinney, and other loved ones.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Sts. Philip and James Catholic Church in Grand Mound. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the church. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in DeWitt.
