Terry Lee Stauffer, 73, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Saturday afternoon, March 21, 2020, at home.
He was born January 28, 1947, in Illinois. Terry graduated from high school in Freeport, Illinois. He served in the United States Air Force as a Doppler Specialist of Detachment 1, 40th Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Squadron during the Vietnam War. He married Sherry June 15, 1984, in DeWitt. Terry was a welder much of his life and owned and operated the Dawg House in DeWitt.
Terry was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt, the Knights of Columbus and Eugene McManus American Legion Post #238 of DeWitt. He truly loved his family, spending time with them and playing tricks on his grandchildren. Terry had a great passion for working on Harley's.
Surviving are children, Alycia Kuberski, Kris (Chuck) Michels, Michelle Klaas Ziesmer, Brian (Sonja) Klaas and Jeff (Connie Kageman) Klaas; grandchildren, Hope Kuberski, Nathan and Logan Kuberski, Dylan and Dakota Michels, Caulin Klaas, Cyle (Melissa) Cox, Celsie Ziesmer and Mitchell and Elaina Klaas; nieces and nephews.
Preceding Terry in death were his parents, his brother, Patrick and his sister, Sharon.
A service will be announced at a later date. Interment and military rites will be held at Rock Island National Cemetery.
