Tammy Hebeisen, 62, of DeWitt, Iowa passed away peacefully Sunday, May 17th early in the morning surrounded by loved ones at home. Her lengthy battle with ALS has finally ended.
Tamara Susan Kusske was born to Harold and Pamela Kusske on January 8th, 1964 in Watertown, MN. She was the eldest child of four with three younger brothers, Grant, Bart, and Bryce. When she was 12 years old, she met her future husband Danny “Dan” Paul Hebeisen. The two met at a mutual friend’s graduation party and Danny told his brother Dave that day “Someday I’m gonna marry that girl” and he certainly did.
She and Dan married in 1987, and spent their first year of marriage in Minnesota before moving to Streamwood, Illinois in 1988. Tammy would spend her next 30 years creating lasting memories and friendships and raising her family in the Chicago suburbs. Tammy gave birth to three children, Jacob (1988), Jessica (1990), and Jennifer (1992). Tammy worked various jobs here and there, but if you asked her, she was always a mother first and identified that as her purpose in life. Whether it was driving to hockey practices or other activities, Tammy always put her children first.
In 2011, Tammy and Dan embarked on the final chapter of their 38 year marriage by moving to DeWitt, Iowa. In 2015, Jessica gave birth to Pearl Ann Wittmer, Tammy’s first and only grandchild. Tammy cherished spending time with Pearl and relished the chance to be a caregiver again. Throughout her life, Tammy was someone who always took care of others first and loved them deeply. Tammy loved laughing, shopping, being with friends, and enjoying sunsets from the front porch.
She is survived by her husband Daniel “Dan” Hebeisen, children Jacob “Jake” Hebeisen, Jessica “Jessi” Hebeisen, Jennifer “Jenny” (Justin) Bittenbender; granddaughter Pearl Wittmer; brother, Bart (Julie Maas-Kusske) Kusske, a sister-in-law, Roxanne Kusske; a niece and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Pamela “Pam”, a brother, Grant, and an infant brother, Bryce.
