Susan Martin

Susan Martin, 65, of Calamus, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Cedar Manor in Tipton, Iowa.

A Memorial Visitation will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound. Casual attire is welcomed.

Susan Kay Martin was born June 21, 1960, to William and Janice (Stichter) Martin in DeWitt, Iowa. She graduated from Calamus Community High School in 1978. She worked many years in the food service industry, most notably at Wapsi Oaks C.C. as a bartender for over a decade.

Her pride and joy was her son, Thomas (Mendellen Esperanzate) LaMaster, and her 3 grandchildren, Carson, Midas, and Timber. Susan shared the last 27 years with Bill Burgos. She will also be missed by her siblings, Pat (Nancy Zeigler) Martin of Clarence, Laurie (Brett) Friederichs of Maysville, Kelly (Pat Ralston) Martin of Tipton, Steven Martin of Calamus; a stepson, Justin Burgos of Rochelle, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Dennis Martin, and Debbie (William) Woeber.
