Steven Roling

Steve Roling, 55, of Delmar, Iowa, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025, in his home, following a brief illness.

Funeral Mass will held at 11:00 a.m.  Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Saints Mary and Joseph Catholic Church, Sugar Creek, with visitation one hour prior. Burial following in the church cemetery. Steve was never one for dressing up and would want everyone to come in casual attire.

Steven David Roling was born March 3, 1970, in Maquoketa, Iowa, the son of Delbert and Priscilla (Banowetz) Roling. He graduated from Central Community Schools in DeWitt, class of 1988. He was married to Donna Schlarmann in 1992. The couple resided in Delmar, where they raised four children. He worked for International Paper in Clinton and Pacific Coast Feather in Maquoketa.

Steve enjoyed listening to country music and going to see local country bands. He was quite a gardener, and loved being outside. He did a lot of farm work and enjoyed all things farming. Steve planted over 1000 trees in his lifetime. His greatest loves were his kids and grandbabies. He enjoyed spending time with all of them, watching the Chicago Bears together, and giving his grandkids rides on the tractor and 4-wheeler.

Surviving are his children, Dylan, Austin, and Justin (Alyssa Davis) Roling all of Delmar, and Olivia (Cody Dohrmann) Roling of Monmouth; grandchildren, Leila, Henry, and Beau; his parents; siblings, Virgil (Michele), John (Dana), and Ann (Tony Mazzola) Roling; nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Barb Doland; and bonus son, Kevin Noack.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Uncle Dennis, a sister-in-law, Mindy, brother-in-law, Gary, and father-in-law, Dave.

Pallbearers will be Dylan, Austin, Justin, Olivia, Cody, Tyler, and Karsyn. Honorary pallbearers will be Leila, Henry, Beau, and Kevin Noack.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established and gifts may be made to the family in memory of Steve.
