Steven Kent

Steve Kent, 74, of Grand Mound, passed away Monday, November 25, 2024, at Fieldstone of DeWitt.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Mound, with Pastor Dianne Prichard officiating. A reception with light refreshments will follow at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Grand Mound.

Steven Dean Kent was born October 11, 1950, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Donald C. and Betty (Jensen) Kent, of Grand Mound. He graduated from Central Community Schools in DeWitt and Drake University in Des Moines, where he received a bachelor’s degree in business. Steve worked in retail for a number of years before receiving series 17 certification and beginning his career in investments. He retired from Maquoketa State Bank as a Trust Officer. Steve married Becki Kenton in 1992, becoming stepfather to her two sons, Drew and Scott. They made their home in Boone, Iowa, recently retiring to Grand Mound.

Steve was a huge Hawkeye fan and enjoyed time spent with friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, Becki; stepsons, Drew Kenton Selim (Kellie Kramer) of Des Moines, and Scott Alan Selim and his three children, Chloe, Aiden, and Charlotte all of Boone; siblings, Alan, of McCausland, and DeAnn (Ron) Larson, of McFarland, Wisconsin; and his nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
