Ruth Webber, age 63, died peacefully at her home in Grand Mound, Iowa, on December 12, 2022.
A memorial visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound.
Ruth is survived by her husband Dan Cromien; her two daughters, Molly Schroeder (Matt Roode) and Bonnie Schroeder (fiancé Matt Vincent), both of St. Louis, Missouri; a step daughter, Maria (Sandy) Dimmer of Decorah, Iowa; grandchildren Calvin and Maeve Roode and Pearl Dimmer; and four siblings, Robert Webber (Vicki Rinehart), Western Springs, Illinois, Janice Webber (Bill Spahn), Meadow Vista, California, Mark (Amy) Webber, Decorah, Iowa, and Michael Webber, Monticello, Iowa. She is also survived by numerous extended family and friends.
Ruth Ann Webber was born January 2, 1959, to the late Carl and Ann (McLees) Webber of Monticello, Iowa. Ruth grew up in Monticello, where she attended Sacred Heart school and Monticello High School, and graduated from Iowa State University in Ames in 1981. Ruth lived most of her adult life in Grand Mound, Iowa, and worked for many years at Iowa Mutual Insurance Company in De Witt, Iowa.
Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends, often on her front porch. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, needlework, and was an especially skilled knitter. She and her husband Dan enjoyed traveling and making memories with friends.
Ruth lived bravely with metastatic breast cancer for the past 12 years. Donations in her memory can be made to the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Iowa.
