Ruth Ann Spain

Ruth Ann Spain, 70, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Friday afternoon, October 23, 2020, at home.

Ruth was born October 11, 1950, to Paul and Marcella (McDonnell) Spain in Clinton, Iowa. Ruth was a 1968 graduate of Central Community Schools in DeWitt. She also graduated from Burlington Beauty Academy and was a beautician for many years at La Petite Beauty Salon. She later worked in insurance, retiring from Arthur J. Gallagher Insurance.

She enjoyed going out to lunch and movies with her many friends. She loved taking pictures with her camera, following the Cubs and the Hawkeyes, and spending time with her family, especially her many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her brothers, Paul L. (Sandy) of Coal Valley, Illinois, Larry of Petersville, Terry (Suzi) of Petersville, and Steven (Paula) of Delmar, a sister, Rita (Pat) Dunlavey of Charlotte, a sister-in-law, Jackie Spain of Lost Nation, and step-mother Delores Spain of Eldridge; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Darrell, sister-in-law, Nancy, and a niece, Shannon Spain.

Ruth will be laid to rest at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Petersville, at a later date.
