Rose Mary “Rosie” McGlone, 81, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Genesis Medical Center in DeWitt.
Rosie was born December 15, 1940, to John A. “Jack” Crowley and Helen (Lasack) Crowley in Delmar, Iowa. She was a 1958 graduate of St. Joseph High School in DeWitt. Rosie married Wilbert A. "Bud" McGlone on August 22, 1959, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The couple resided in DeWitt. Bud preceded her in death in 2018.
Rosie was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a 50+ year member of TTT Society, active in the Red Hat Society, and known locally for her cheesecakes.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle “Shelly” (Rick) Boehm of Pensacola, FL; grandsons, Ryan (fiancé Kyle Wagner) Masterson of Columbus, OH, Joe Boehm of DeWitt, Sean (Sarah) Masterson of Chicago, IL; a great-granddaughter, Saoirse Masterson; sisters, Kathryn Strodtman of DeWitt, and Maurine (Richard) Huppert of Hager City, WI; a sister-in-law, Shirley Crowley; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon (Ronald) Green, her brother, John Martin Crowley, and brother-in-law, Bob Strodtman.
Visitation will be from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the church, the Rev. Fr. David Ambrosy officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, DeWitt.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph School Foundation.
