Ronnie Schroeder, 79, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family, Sunday, December 10, 2023.
Ronnie Marvin Schroeder was born November 4, 1944, in Clinton, Iowa, to Marvin and Melita (Bentrott) Schroeder. He grew up in Calamus, where he graduated from high school. On March 14, 1965, he married Kay Raymond at St. John Lutheran Church, Bliedorn. The couple resided in DeWitt and later Grand Mound where they raised their family. Kay preceded him in death on January 8, 2019.
Ronnie was a longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church, Bliedorn. He loved camping with Kay and traveling to Texas in the winter months. His greatest joy was his family and he cherished time spent with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Rick and JoJo Schroeder of Grand Mound; granddaughters, Samantha (Ande) Miller and their children, Austin, Emma, Jaxon and Leo, and Jordan (Kyle) Hovey and their children, Sophia, Jayden, Aubree and Vivian; a grandson, Drew (Justine) Schroeder and their son, Cal; a brother, Alan (Linda) Schroeder; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
In keeping with Ronnie’s wishes, a private family celebration will be held at a later date.
The family extends their sincere appreciation to Dr. Eric Petersen, DO, for his care and concern over the years.
