Roger Wesley Smith

Roger Smith, 61, of Grand Mound, Iowa, passed away early Sunday morning, July, 17, 2022, due to a motorcycle accident.

Roger was born August 23, 1960, in Bloomfield, Iowa, to Robert and Mary (Rominger) Smith. He attended school in Davenport. Roger lived in the rural Grand Mound area. He was a member of the IUOE Local 234. Roger married Verna Paulsen in December of 2000. He retired in 2022.

Roger enjoyed visiting with family and friends, his dog Floyd, and riding his motorcycle.

He is survived by his wife, Verna; a sister, Lisa (Dave) Patterson of Douglas, Wyoming, a brother, Bill (Faith) McVay of Cedar Rapids; 5 grandchildren, a great-grandson, and a nephew.

A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2022, at CALCO in Calamus.
