Robert Lincoln, 60, of Davenport, formerly of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away peacefully in his sleep Monday, October, 14, 2024.
Robert was born March 31, 1964, in DeWitt, Iowa to Richard and Mary Kay (McGarry) Lincoln. He graduated from Central Community Schools in DeWitt and Emmaus Bible College. Robert was married for 25 years to Nancy (Thurber) Lincoln, with whom he had two children, Katy and Matthew. They later divorced. Robert worked as a care giver for Community Care in DeWitt for 17 years. He also helped at his father’s heating and air conditioning business for many years.
Robert was a man of great faith and could often be seen on prayer walks. For many years he enjoyed worshipping at Harvest Bible Chapel with his family, and most recently at Adventure Christian Community Church, both in Davenport. He had a passion for studying the Bible and learning about history through reading and documentaries. He loved being a dad and taking his children on adventures. He always wanted to show the love of Jesus to everyone, and passed on this value to his kids, taking them to visit nursing homes every Sunday, and spreading hope and joy to all he met.
Surviving are his children and grandchildren, Katy Lincoln of Iowa City with her son Reese Wolfe, and Matthew (Callie) Lincoln of Davenport with their daughter, Sadie and one on the way; his children’s mother, Nancy Lincoln; his mother, Kay Lincoln of DeWitt; siblings Lori (Dennis) McCormick of New Prague, MN, Rick (Mary) Lincoln of DeWitt, and Lon Lincoln of Delmar, Mark (Diana) Lincoln of Los Almos, NM, and Betsy (Mike) Loehr of Donahue; many nieces and nephews and friends.
Preceding him in death were his father, Dick, and a sister Molly.
Private family service will be held.
Memorials are suggested to his family and may be made to Katy Lincoln and sent to Schultz Funeral Home, 722 8th Street, DeWitt, Iowa, 52742.
