Robert Clark Obituary

Robert Clark, 81, of Sabula, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 6, 2025, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2025, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Bliedorn. Service of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the church. Burial following at Pine Hill Cemetery, Bliedorn.

In lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy, memorials are suggested to the local volunteer fire departments or St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Robert William Clark was born April 2, 1944, in Niagara Falls, New York, the son of John and Emma (Toth) Clark. Bob grew up in rural Sabula, Iowa, and graduated from Sabula High School in 1962. He worked at Farmall for several years after graduation, and served in the National Guard. Bob married Joanne Thomsen on September 23, 1967, at Grace Lutheran Church in DeWitt. The couple began farming West of Welton in 1969, and continued until retirement.

Bob was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Bliedorn. He enjoyed camping, traveling, antique cars, rooting for the Cubs, and especially spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.

Surviving are his loving wife, Joanne; children, Jolene (Mike) Adams of Delmar, Debbie (Steve) Clark of DeWitt, Bill (Ange) Clark of Grand Mound, and Tony (Alicia) Clark of Ankeny; grandchildren, Scott (Emma) Adams, Steven (Nicole) Adams, Jacob (Katie) Kagemann, Justine (Drew) Schroeder, Jason Block, Kailey, Megan, and Rachel Clark; great-grandchildren, Owen, Lenox, Johnny, Mathias, Cal, Benny, and Isaac; brothers, Steve (Cheryl), and Gary; sisters-in-law, Carole Rathjen, and Nancy (Alan) Henningsen; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters-in-law, Karen Clark, Mary Lou Clark, a brother-in-law, Darrel Rathjen, and a nephew, Jason.
