Reginald Claire Kauffman was born September 22, 1942, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Anna (Stalder) Figg, of Buffalo, Iowa. Reg was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He spent decades passing along his extensive knowledge of the outdoors to the younger generations. He was a hot-rod enthusiast, rarely missing a car show or parade. His favorite pastimes were working his farm, and spending time with his family and his Labradors.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley; children, John (Colleen) Kauffman of Bennett, and Amy (Brian) Flynn of Dixon; grandchildren include Amber, Nic, Jeslin, Zac, Collin, and Kevin; and great-grandchildren; a brother, Max (Andi) Kauffman of Blue Grass; special nephews, Mike and David; and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Anna and Robert Figg, and his brother, Randy (Mary Lou) Kauffman.
Memorials are suggested to the Calamus Fire Department and the Wheatland E.M.S. to thank them for coming to Reg’s aid.
