Raymond Mickelson, Sr., 68, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Sunday, January 12, 2020, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus in Davenport.
Raymond Marvin Mickelson, Sr. was born January 11, 1952, in Clinton, Iowa to Donald and Ruth (Carber) Mickelson. He attended school in DeWitt, and married Myra Wilson in 1971 in Rock Island, Illinois. The couple resided in DeWitt where Ray worked as a Department of Transportation maintenance worker.
His passion was antiquing and sharing stories with friends. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, and searching for treasures at flea markets. His nickname was Mr. Antiques.
He is survived by his wife, Myra; daughters, Andrea (Matt) Cavey of Wheatland and Molly (Anthony) Welch of Wheatland; a son, Nathan (Becky) Mickelson of DeWitt; grandchildren, Collin, Ava, Corbin, and Evelynn Cavey, Zachary and Matthew Welch, Xander and Valerie Mickelson, and Sophia and John Mickelson and their mother, Hailey Kitchen; a sister, Robin Simpson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Don, Tom, Gary, and Ed, and his son, Raymond Mickelson Jr.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion in DeWitt from 12 noon until 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2020.
