Randy Twigg Obituary

Randy Twigg, 56, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away late Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Fieldstone of DeWitt.

Randy Ray Twigg was born May 6, 1966, in Davenport, Iowa, to Raymond and Shirley (Speth) Twigg. After graduating from Central Community Schools in DeWitt in 1984, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving until 1988. He was married and had two children, Amanda and Eric. He later married Tierney Faudel on July 4, 2011, and his family grew by 3 more children, Miché, Brody, and Ashland. The couple resided in Nacogdoches, Texas. Randy worked as a Millwright from 2008 until retiring in 2022. On July 16, 2018, he adopted Ashland as his own daughter. After retirement, the couple moved back to DeWitt in October of 2022 to be closer to family. He was baptized into the Lutheran Faith on December 17, 2022.

Randy enjoyed sitting on the deck drinking sweet tea and coffee, listening to music, grilling and cooking, working in the garage, and landscaping his yard. He enjoyed complaining about Christmas decorating, but found joy in the holiday for his wife and children. Halloween was particularly special to him. He would go to great lengths to scare not only his own, but also the neighborhood children with his elaborate and lifelike displays. He loved attending the Grand Mound 4th of July fireworks every year.

Surviving are his wife, Tierney; children and their spouses, Amanda Twigg, Eric and Miché Twigg, Brody and Beth Faudel, and Ashland and Cyrus Thompson; grandchildren, Madisyn and Vayda, and Thalia; siblings, Ron (Mary) Goffe, Cheryl Schneider, and Deb (Frank) Worrick; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. A graveside service will follow at McCausland Cemetery.
