Patrick Joseph Green

Patrick Green, 71, of Grand Mound, Iowa, passed away peacefully Monday, March 24, 2025, at home surrounded by his family, following a brief battle with cancer.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Sts. Philip and James Catholic Church in Grand Mound. Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the church. Private interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery at a later date.

Patrick Joseph Green was born November 20, 1953, to Ralph V. and Mary A. (Determan) Green of DeWitt, Iowa. Growing up in rural DeWitt, Pat attended a one-room schoolhouse before graduating from Central Community Schools in DeWitt with the Class of 1972. He married Cynthia “Cindy” Pearson on March 15, 1974, in DeWitt. From an early age, Pat farmed alongside his father before establishing his own operation, eventually moving north of Calamus, where he initially rented a farm. In the early 2000s, he fulfilled his dream of ownership by purchasing the “Old Knudsen Farm”.

When Pat wasn't farming, which was his passion in life, he loved to socialize and was always the life of the party. He never met a stranger, finding new friends wherever he went. Pat had a great sense of humor and an unforgettable laugh. He loved and cherished his family. In his free time Pat enjoyed golfing, bike riding with his grandchildren, playing cards and dice, and was part of two card clubs. He loved antiquing, always searching for hidden treasures and seizing the opportunity to negotiate the perfect deal. Neon signs, vintage signs, and Pepsi memorabilia were his favorite collectables, and he enjoyed displaying them.

Surviving are his wife, Cindy; a daughter, Heather (Josh) Daniel of Calamus; grandchildren, Caitlyn Daniel and Jason Daniel; siblings, Chuck (Barb) Green of DeWitt, Gary (Becky) Green of Hartland, Wisconsin, Doug (Sharon) Green of DeWitt, Mary Lou (Ron) Rayls, of Davenport, Ed Green of DeWitt, Sue (Marc) Alkire of Holly Springs, North Carolina, and Robert “Bob” (Lynn) Green of Papillion, Nebraska; brothers-in-law, Mark Pearson and Larry (Teresa) Ballinger; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pat is reunited in eternity with his son, Aaron, his parents, Ralph and Mary, and a brother Ralph Jr. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Loren D. and Gloria J. (Gemignani) Pearson, and brother-in-law, Michael Pearson.
