Patricia Ann Thompson

A Memorial Service will be held next month, Saturday, March 16th, at 11:00 AM, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt.

Patricia Thompson, 83, formerly of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away peacefully, January 1, 2024, at Ravenwood Specialty Care in Waterloo, Iowa.

Patricia Ann Thompson was born March 8, 1940, in Arlington, Iowa, the daughter of Harry Edward and Marlas K. (Jensen) Dahlgaard. Pat started her career at Iowa Mutal and worked many years as a commercial insurance underwriter, retiring from SafeCo Insurance Co. after 35 years in the industry. She enjoyed sports, especially football and college wrestling.

Surviving are her sons, Ed and his wife Amy of Council Bluffs, and Brian of Dixon, Illinois; grandchildren, Chelcey (Adam) Jacobson, Magen (Jamie) Gillespie-Lange, Elric, Sarah (fiancée Jennifer Weuve), Jeff, and Emma; great-grandchildren, Gwendolyn and Easton Gillespie-Lange; a brother, Don (Catherin) Dahlgaard, sisters, Kay (Mike) Strum, Marsha (Chris) Theiss, Lisa Calcamuggio, and a sister-in-law, Diane Dahlgaard; cousins, nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her father and stepmother, Harry (Betty) Dahlgaard, mother and stepfather, Marlas K. (Arnold) Judas, son, Jeff, a granddaughter, Gwen Lange, brother, Chuck Dahlgaard, and stepbrother, George Tessmer.
