Morgan Strodtman, 26, of Dubuque, Iowa, died Sunday evening, April 23, 2023, in Dubuque.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2023, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. A dinner will follow.
Morgan was born September 23, 1996, to Randy and Melissa (DeCap) Strodtman in Davenport, Iowa. She was involved in 4-H for many years with the Andrew Achievers, where she showed cattle, sheep, and goats. During her senior year, she showed cattle at the state fair. She was once featured in the local paper for muttin’ bustin’. She loved animals, and was known to have many adopted cats. Morgan had a kind soul, gave everyone the benefit of the doubt, and didn’t know a stranger. She always enjoyed meeting new people and talking their ear off. She graduated from Bellevue High School in 2015. Morgan was great with children and found her niche providing daycare after graduation.
She is survived by her father, Randy; brothers, Robert (Amber Olson) Strodtman, and Jack Strodtman all of Maquoketa, and Braylyn Welford; her grandfather, Bill DeCap of Princeton; aunts and uncles, Trina (David) Hill, Mike (Stephanie) DeCap, Rick Hamilton, Randy (Patty) Hamilton, Jeff (Marcy) Hamilton, Sheryl (Dean) Glunz, and Sharon (Todd) Vershaw; her fiancé, Tyler Barber of Dubuque; and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Missy Strodtman, grandparents, Robert and Kathryn Strodtman, Regina DeCap, step-grandmother, Billie DeCap, and her brother Brantley.
