Midge Twigg, 90, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away Monday, December 12, 2022, at Fieldstone of DeWitt.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the service time of 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.

Midge was born Elnora Mae Bunce on March 26, 1932, to Owen and Sigrid (Tiedje) Bunce in DeWitt, Iowa. She graduated from DeWitt High School. Midge married LeRoy Twigg on December 12, 1950, at DeWitt United Methodist Church. The couple resided on a farm near DeWitt. Midge owned and operated a fabric store and worked as a dress maker. She also worked at Neckers Jewelers for over 30 years. LeRoy preceded her in death on June 18, 1991.
Midge was very involved in the community. She served as a 4-H leader, on the customer council for eastern Iowa for Contel, and was a member of the board of directors for the Clinton County chapter of the American Red Cross. She was the first female president of the DeWitt Chamber of Commerce, served as chair of the DeWitt Family Fun Fest, and was honored with an award for Working Woman of the Year. She was also voted Westwing Queen in 2021.
She is survived by her son, Bill, DeWitt, and son-in-law, Dick McGarry of Milan, Illinois (formerly of DeWitt); siblings, Owen “Sonny” Bunce of Camanche, and Lavonne of Arizona; grandchildren, Dawn (Tim) Parris, Traci (Bryant Hammond) McGarry, and Brian (Brandy) McGarry; 7 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandson, and one on the way; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Lynn McGarry, and her daughter-in-law, Bobbie Jo Twigg.
