Merlyn Louis McKillip

Merlyn Louis McKillip, age 87, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, at home, surrounded by the love of his family.

Merlyn was born on February 11, 1938, to Elmer and Jessie (Kruger) McKillip. He grew up in Muscatine, Iowa, where he graduated from Muscatine High School. Merlyn was united in marriage to Maxine Wood in February 1, 1957. He found simple enjoyment in reading, and spending time with his grandchildren, and grand-dogs.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Maxine; his children, Mick McKillip (Diane) of Woodridge, Illinois, Tracie Mohr (Joel) of Davenport, Iowa, Scott McKillip of Naperville, Illinois; and his grandchildren, Cristian McKillip and Zachary McKillip.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly Jack.

Cremation has been entrusted to Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. In keeping with his wishes, no services will be held.
