Kim Hart, 69, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away in her home on Friday, May 30, 2025, following a prolonged illness.
Mary Kim Hart was born on December 7, 1955, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Lowell and Geraldine (Fitzgerald) Hart. A graduate of Assumption High School, Kim pursued her education earning degrees from colleges across the Midwest. She went on to build a career in nursing, serving in various capacities.
Kim spent many years in Milwaukee, a city she grew to love, and used it as a home base for her extensive travels. Adventurous and independent, she followed her curiosity across state lines and continents, collecting experiences and stories rather than possessions. Eventually, the call of family brought Kim back to Iowa, returning to care for her aging parents. She settled in DeWitt following their passing.
Kim was a free spirit who danced to the rhythm of her own drum. Content in her own company, she found happiness in solitude, in nature, and in the simple, beautiful moments of life. She will be remembered for her independence, her deep empathy, and her unwavering authenticity.
Following cremation, a Memorial Mass will be held. Kim will be laid to rest in Rockwell, Iowa, next to her parents.
Arrangements are in the care of Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Condolences may be expressed at www.schultzfuneralhomes.com
