Marvella “Marty” (Frahm) Block

Marvella M. “Marty” (Frahm) Block, 75, of DeWitt, Iowa, died peacefully Monday morning, September 6, 2021, in the comfort of her home.

Marty was born Marvella Mae Frahm July 7, 1946 in Davenport to Herman and Florence (Goodell) Frahm.  She was a 1964 graduate of North Scott High School and studied data processing at American Institute of Commerce, Davenport.  Marty married Richard Block October 16, 1965, and the couple were blessed with nearly 56 years of marriage.  She started her employment career as a data entry specialist at Cartstensen Freight Lines, Clinton.  She went on to serve as office manager for Dr. Robert German, MD, Rock Island Radiology and most recently Accredited Dermatology where she was currently employed.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt.  Marty loved traveling and spending time with her family.  

Surviving are her husband, Richard; her son, Shawn Block of Arvada, Colorado; siblings, Wyatt Frahm of DeWitt, Ruby Claussen of Eldridge and Cynthia Dekeukeleire of Las Vegas, Nevada; nieces and nephews.

Preceding Marty in death were her parents and siblings, Eugene Frahm and Janet Rathjen.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt from 10:00 until 10:45 p.m. Thursday, September 9, 2021.  A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the church with the Rev. Eric Obermann officiating.  Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery.  In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials are suggested to Grace Lutheran Church or Grace Lutheran Camp.

Pallbearers will be Loren Rathjen, Ed Rathjen, Rick Rathjen, Dale Durant, Terry Frahm, Dale Frahm and Jeff Frahm.
