Marie Anderson

Marie Anderson, 94, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Sunday May 16, 2021, at Wheatland Manor surrounded by family.

Visitation will be Thursday May 20, 2021, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday May 21, 2021, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grand Mound. The Rev. Steven Anderson Officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.

Letha Marie Strode was born May 13, 1927, to Marshall and Loma (Knight) Strode in Centerville, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Wayne Anderson September 3, 1944, at the First Christian Church in Davenport. Together they raised five Children, Rev. Wayne (Beth) Anderson of Rodeo, California, Susan (Jack) Troy of Bettendorf, Kirk (Melody) Anderson of Cedar Rapids, Bradley (Susie) Anderson of Sarasota, Florida, Jennifer (Fred) Thiede of DeWitt; grandchildren, Emily (Billy) Waters, Sarah Anderson, Anthony (Lindsey) Troy, Elizabeth (Patrick) Kellen, Brent (Ellen) Troy, Ian (Daniela) Anderson, Seth Anderson, Jessica (Jason) Jarvis, Robin (Drew) Cabana, Curtis (Erika) Thiede, Ashley (Brian) Leibold; 14 great-grandchildren; and her faithful companion, Lily.

Marie never met a bargain she didn't have to have. Shopping was her favorite pastime along with reading, tending to her rose garden, crocheting, playing cards, meeting with the girls at McDonald's, eating chocolate and jelly bellies. She loved the Lord and was a faithful follower, always instilling the importance of having him in your life. We will all miss your cinnamon rolls, Mother.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, and two infant brothers. Thanks to Wheatland Manor staff for their compassion and loving care, you are the best. Till we meet again, your loving family.
