It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of M. Jeanine Gannon (née Green) on December 3, 2024, at the age of 67, in Sleepy Hollow, IL. She passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones.

Jeanine was born on February 10, 1957, in DeWitt, IA. Jeanine was also a devout Christian, praying daily for the well-being of her loved ones. Jeanine’s generosity knew no bounds. She found joy in giving to others, throwing magical birthday parties, and hosting memorable Halloween and Christmas gatherings. Jeanine was a talented cook and baker, renowned for her homemade appetizers and baklava. An avid sports enthusiast, she was a passionate fan of the Chicago Bears, Bulls, and St. Louis Cardinals and enjoyed watching golf. Jeanine is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Mark Gannon, and their daughters, Bridget (Tony) Amelio and Rebecca Mailey. She was a cherished grandmother to Madison Lepianka, Ethan Amelio, Kylie, Alexis, and Kathleen Mailey. Jeanine is also survived by her siblings, Cheryl (Jim) Whalen, Maureen (Dave) Mann, Madonna (Brian) Farrell, and her sisters-in-law, Debb and Mary Ann Green. She is further survived by her father- and mother-in-law, Tom and Judy Gannon, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and brothers- and sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Alice Ann Green; her brothers, Steven and Leon Green; and her granddaughter, Amber Mailey.
Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Mass on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in DeWitt, Iowa. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in Grand Mound, Iowa. Jeanine’s family will be receiving friends at the church on Tuesday morning from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Catholic Relief services in memory of Jeanine.
