Lynn Lubben Obituary

Lynn Lubben, 45, of McCausland, Iowa, passed away Monday, October 28, 2024, after a 7-year courageous battle with breast cancer.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Saturday, November 2, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in DeWitt. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the church. A private family graveside service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in DeWitt.

Lynn was born September 25, 1979, in Clinton, Iowa, to Virgil and Brenda (Sullivan) Schroeder. She graduated in 1998 from DeWitt Central Community Schools. Lynn furthered her education at St. Ambrose University, receiving a bachelor’s degree and later a master’s degree, both in early childhood education. Lynn was loved by many and was passionate about children. She taught at the St. Ambrose Children’s Campus from 1998 until 2020. She then taught at Truman Elementary in Davenport until her illness prevented her from continuing. Lynn married Michael Lubben on October 29, 2005, at Sts. Philip & James Catholic Church, Grand Mound. Together they had two children, Eva and Drake, both living at home.

Surviving are her husband, Mike; children, Eva and Drake; her parents, Virgil and Brenda Schroeder of DeWitt; siblings, Troy (Lindsey) Schroeder of Ankeny, and Shannon (Jake) Flagel of Delmar; nephews, Trace and Tate Flagel; maternal grandmother, Joan Sullivan; in-laws, Cletus and Catherine Arensdorf; brothers-in-law, Eric Lubben; nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her maternal grandfather, Lester Sullivan, paternal grandparents, Virtus and Lucille Schroeder, uncles, Gary Sullivan and Doug Schroeder, father-in-law Donald Lubben and brother-in-law, Matthew Lubben.
