Lyle Jaeger 90, of Eldridge, formerly of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away peacefully, Thursday, April 1, 2021, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Lyle was born February 19, 1931, at home on the DeWitt Guernsey Dairy, the son of August and Helen (Jacobson) Jaeger. He attended DeWitt Public School and Turner Country School, graduating Clinton County Rural School in May of 1946. He worked at the Dairy until the business was sold. He then worked as a mechanic for a combined 41 years, for Peter Motors, then Lee Dahl Motors, and finally retiring from Krieger’s in 1995. Lyle married Victoria Wagemester on June 11, 1966, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in DeWitt.
Lyle loved automobiles. He was an avid reader. He enjoyed listening to music and attending live performances. Lyle especially enjoyed spending time with his family and visiting with his friends.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years; children, Brenda (Dan) Konrardy of Davenport, Kristi (Randy) Davis of Eldridge, Greg (Heather) Jaeger of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; grandchildren, Owen Konrardy, Hudson, Aidan, and Nora Davis, and Simon, Lily, Parker, and Oliver Jaeger; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Harlan Jaeger.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m. Monday, April 12, 2021. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt with the Rev. Fr. Stephen Page officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Scott County Library System in Eldridge, or the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center.
