Lisa Rae (Marsh) Ross, 60, of Fulton, Illinois, died Thursday, March 23, 2023, at UnityPoint Trinity Hospital, Bettendorf.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Calamus.
She was born on October 7, 1962, to Robert Marsh and Nancy (Mardorf) Marsh in Monticello, Iowa. Lisa graduated from Central DeWitt High School in 1981, and attended Denison Job Corps as a CNA. She was married to David Ross with whom she had a daughter, Tasha. They later divorced. She was together with Jeffrey Burmeister, with whom she had a second daughter, Melissa. Jeffery preceded her in death on December 8, 2005. Lisa was a homemaker and stay-at-home mom.
Lisa was a member of the Lutheran Church in Monticello, Iowa. She enjoyed reading Dean Koontz, Stephen King, and Mary Higgins Clark books. She loved doing crossword and fill-in puzzles. She will be remembered for being stubborn, spoiling her grandsons, and calling you out on things.
She is survived by her daughter Tasha Ross with her son Michael Van Damme and step-daughter Deseray Van Damme; her daughter Melissa Willey with her husband Joshua and their sons Raymond Jeffrey “RJ” and Elijah-Jackson “EJ”; and her sister Cindy Marsh.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Wilhelm and Kathryn Mardorf, parents Robert and Nancy Marsh, sister DeeAnn Marsh, and long-time partner Jeffrey Burmeister.
