Linda Louise Haack was born July 20, 1950, in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Louise (Dohrmann) Haack. She graduated from Central Community Schools in DeWitt in 1968. Linda worked for Steffen’s Tap in Calamus for several years, Genesis-West in Davenport, and most recently at the United States Postal Service in Iowa City, retiring after 20 years.

Linda loved playing online card games, gardening, and mowing her lawn. She enjoyed being the “travel agent” for family vacations, her favorite being their trip to the Smokie Mountains. She loved baking for everyone. At Christmastime, Linda would make hundreds of mini loaves of quick breads and dozens upon dozens of cookies that she would share with her family and friends. Linda served on the committee that published the Calamus Bicentennial Cookbook. She was an animal lover and was always caring for strays and adopting pets. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her two cats, Sassi and Chloe, who she adopted from Safe Haven of Iowa County.

Surviving are her children, Amy (Rodney) Lambert of Aledo, Illinois, Jason (Brenda) Wilhelm of Wheatland, and Trent (Lois) Wilhelm of Bennett; grandchildren, Jolin (Caleb) Mueting, Abbigail Lambert, Eva Lambert, and Kody (Sarah) Lambert; Kylie and Kaylie Wilhelm; Tyler (Molly) Reedy; great-grandchildren, Noah, Paisley, and Ellery Mueting, and Angus Reedy; a bonus daughter, Svetlana Avtukh of North Liberty.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, and a special friend.

Arrangements are in the care of Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Condolences may be expressed at www.schultzfuneralhomes.com
