Larry Kelly, 91, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Fieldstone of DeWitt.
Lawrence Richard Kelly was born May 3, 1931, to Raymond and Helen Pearse Kelly in Clinton, Iowa. Larry was the youngest of “the Kelly boys” in Grand Mound. He graduated in 1949 from Grand Mound High School and was very proud to tell everyone he was third in his class... out of 3! He married Joan Beverly Youngworth on September 6th, 1952, and would have celebrated their 70th anniversary this year. Larry moved his family to Elyria, OH to work for Goodyear Tire, and later transferred to Lacrosse, WI. They returned to Grand Mound, where Larry worked for Davenport Bank and Trust. He also worked for his brother Bob at Union Savings Bank, Grand Mound, as vice president and cashier. Larry retired from Davenport Bank and Trust. He then worked for his nephew, Dick Kelly, at DeWitt Bank and Trust.
Surviving are his wife, Jo; children, Scott (Julie) Kelly, West Branch, and Sue (Tim) Shinbori, Davenport; grandchildren, Bryon Manning, Ryan (fiancée Jessica) Manning, Sean (fiancée Griffin) Kelly, Ahlena (Zack) Micklewright, Cole (Lydia) Kelly, Katerina Shinbori, and Malia Shinbori; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Kris Manning, brothers, Raymond “Nook” and Bob, and a great-grandson, Drew Manning, and other extended family.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at Schultz Funeral Home in Grand Mound. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home, Sister Janet Heiar officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Grand Mound.
