Larry Lingle, 67, of Rockledge, Florida, formerly of Williamsburg, Iowa, passed away suddenly Wednesday, December 28, 2022, in his home as the result of a stroke.
Larry was born May 6, 1955, to Walter and Gloria (Clark) Lingle in Maquoketa, Iowa. He grew up in Preston, Iowa, where he graduated from high school. He was married to Cynthia Notz, with whom he had two children. They later divorced but remained good friends. Larry worked as a design and control engineer for various manufacturing companies, living in many small towns in Iowa, and traveling as far as Japan for work. He then married the love of his life, Joan Bruggeman, on June 27, 2008, and they created a wonderful life together in Williamsburg, Iowa. Joan preceded him in death on April 9, 2020. Larry then moved to Florida to be near family.
Larry was involved for many years in renaissance fairs, making his own costumes and props. He also enjoyed target shooting, watching movies, and building circuit boards. He made many electronic gadgets and was always into the latest technology. He was an avid supporter of veteran causes. He loved to spend time at home with his two playful cats, Nally and Lenny. He cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Jennifer (Tony) Kiggins of DeWitt, and Tim (Katie) Lingle of Rockledge, Florida; grandchildren, Kyle Schmitt, Jenevieve Schmitt, Julia Lingle, Dayton Kiggins, Mason Lingle, Joshua Schmitt, and Sailor Kiggins; a brother, Alan Lingle of Maquoketa; a brother-in-law, Ron Gasper of Calamus; and nephews, Lee (Debbie) Gasper and Keith (Tracy) Gasper.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Donna Gasper and Clint Lingle.
Funeral Service will be at 6:00 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2023, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, with visitation one hour prior. Larry will be laid to rest beside his late wife Joan at Brooklyn Calvary Cemetery in Brooklyn, Iowa, at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2023.
