Kevin Locey, 47, of DeWitt, Iowa passed away Monday, May 29, 2023, doing what he loved, riding his Harley.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Schultz Funeral Home in DeWitt, with Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.

Kevin James Locey was born August 21, 1975, in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of Toni Dearth and Gerald Locey. He made his home in the DeWitt area. Kevin was married to Angel Coleman, with whom he had 3 children, they later divorced, and he had a daughter with Abbey Hartmann. Kevin worked as a freelance general contractor.

Kevin loved being his own boss and took great pride in his work. Kevin’s family and kids were everything to him and he loved being with them. He was an unstoppable force and was his family’s superman. He didn’t take crap from anyone, and always spoke his mind. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He would give away the last dollar in his pocket. Dave Simpson, Daniel Kilgore, and Dennis Burris were father figures who played very important roles and impacted his life greatly.

He is survived by his children, Dustin James Locey, Brandon Lee Locey, Nevaeh Renee Locey, and Avery Jo Hartmann all of Calamus; his mother, Toni Kilgore of Muscatine; siblings, Susan (Ken) Klein and their 7 children, Jason (Angela) Morris and their 3 children, and twins Tommy L. (Krystle) Dearth and their 4 children and Jamie (Krystle) Dearth and their 4 children; many beloved cousins, and extended family.
