Ken Kaczinski, 81, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026 at MercyOne Genesis East, Davenport, Iowa.
Kenneth Leroy Kaczinski was born August 16, 1944, to Max and Louise (Andresen) in Lost Nation, Iowa. He graduated from Central Community Schools in DeWitt class of 1963, and furthered his education in accounting at A.I.C. Ken was united in marriage to Lillian Knudsen on May 20, 1967, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lost Nation. The couple resided in Clinton County, settling in Grand Mound in 1983. Ken owned and operated New Era Fertilizer and later worked as a delivery driver until retirement.
Ken was a member of Sts. Philip and James Catholic Church in Grand Mound. He enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, fishing, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren. In early years, he enjoyed being in 4-H, and later being a Boy Scout leader while his sons were growing up.
Surviving are his sons, Joel (Joan) of Eagle, Wisconsin, Jay of Grand Mound, and Ross of Grand Mound; grandchildren, Michael and Katelyn, and Morgan; siblings, Pat, Paul, Bev, and Judy; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Lil, his parents, and siblings, Marcella, Betty, Virgen, Sandra, Mary, and Max.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in DeWitt, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Cremation has been entrusted to Schultz Funeral Home.
