Kelly Lynn Fahrenkrug

Kelly Fahrenkrug, 54, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2024, in the loving presence of her family, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Kelly Lynn Collins was born November 2, 1969, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Jerry and Josie (Cashero) Collins. She grew up in Davenport, Iowa, where she graduated from Davenport North in 1987. Kelly worked as a title clerk and later as a real estate agent for several years. She married Matt Fahrenkrug on May 5, 2000. Soon thereafter, the couple moved to DeWitt where they raised their beloved daughter, Sadie.

Kelly loved animals. She kept a koi pond and multiple fish tanks, horses, Skip and Blaze, and birds Finn, Remmy, and Bella. She also loved spending time outside with nature, listening to music, and attending concerts. Kelly cherished time spent in the evenings with Matt and Sadie, having a cocktail, and relaxing beside her pool. Her home was her castle, and she loved being there and hosting friends.

Surviving are her husband, Matt; daughter, Sadie (Sam Lindhoff) Fahrenkrug; siblings, John (Ava) Collins of Ankeny, Scott (Sharon) Collins of Newburgh, Indiana, Susan Anderson of North Liberty; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. All are welcome to precede with the family to Elmwood Cemetery for a graveside service following the visitation.
