Kathy Strodtman, 76, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, October 29, 2022, in her home.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt, the Rev. Fr. Stephen Page officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Kathryn Ann Crowley was born July 22, 1946, to John A. and Helen (Lasack) Crowley in DeWitt, Iowa. She was a 1964 graduate of St. Joseph High School in DeWitt. Kathy married Robert L. Strodtman on May 1, 1965, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in DeWitt. The couple resided in DeWitt, where they had two children, a daughter, Jennifer, who was born January 14, 1968, and passed away eight days later on January 22, and a son Randy. Kathy worked in the Clinton County Auditor’s Office until retirement. Her husband preceded her in death on November 4, 1992.
Kathy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed watching British Comedies on Public Television, reading, going to the casinos, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her son, Randy (Missy) Strodtman of Maquoketa; grandchildren, Robert (Amber Olsen) Strodtman, Morgan Strodtman, and Jack Strodtman; a sister, Maurine (Richard) Huppert of Hager City, WI; a sister-in-law, Shirley Crowley; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Ray Garrity.
In addition to her husband and daughter, she was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Sharon (Ronald) Green and Rosie (Bud) McGlone, and brother, John Martin Crowley.
