Kathryn Jebsen

Kathryn Ruth (Adrian) Jebsen, 97, formerly of Lost Nation, Iowa, and Chetek, Wisconsin, died Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Iowa River Hospice in Marshalltown, Iowa.

Kathryn was born on March 1, 1927, on the family farm near Elwood, Iowa, to August and Bernice Adrian. She graduated from Elwood High School in 1944 and Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She taught kindergarten through 8th grade in a one-room country schoolhouse in Bryant.

On August 10th 1947, she was united in marriage to Donald Jebsen in DeWitt, Iowa. Together they farmed in rural Lost Nation until Don preceded her in death on January 7, 1989. Kathryn was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lost Nation.

Kathryn is survived by her son, Darrell (Jolene) Jebsen of Marshalltown, Iowa, and her daughter, Barbara (Harry) Boggs of Chetek, Wisconsin; 7 grandchildren, Lisa (Tyler) Ketelsen, Michelle (Brett) Wilson, Sam (Lizzy) Jebsen, Rebecca (Cameron) Holland, Katie (Matt) Mattocks, Joel (Anna) Boggs, and Kristen (Mike) Cameron; 14 great-grandchildren, Cooper, Ivy, Finn, Sage, Juniper, Yarrow, Lena, Alissa, Calvin, Charlotte, Micah, Kathryn, Harrison, and Clara; a sister-in-law, Twyla Adrian; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, of 41 years; her parents; brothers, Ronald (Wilma) Adrian, and Wayne Adrian; and a sister, Elinor (Jack) Kleinsmith.

Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lost Nation, Iowa, with a Service of Christian Burial following at 11:00 a.m., Pastor Daniel Pell officiating. Burial will be in Lost Nation Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iowa River Hospice in Marshalltown.
