Obituary

Karen J. (Mrs. Ronald) Genco, 78, of Andrew, Iowa, formerly of Clinton and Fort Dodge died Saturday afternoon, February 1, 2020, at Westwing Place, DeWitt.

Karen Jean West was born August 1, 1941, in Fort Dodge to  the late Averill and Olive (Campbell) West.  She married Ronald Lou Genco, Sr. January 19, 1957, in Fort Dodge at the former Riverside Methodist Church.  The family resided in Fort Dodge and later Clinton where they raised their family of four children.  Karen was a wonderful homemaker, caring for her husband and family.  

She loved doting on her eight grandchildren, crocheting and knitting.  Her chocolate chip cookies were always welcomed by her family and friends.

Surviving are her husband, Ron; her children, Wanda (Mark) Haack of Grand Mound, Robin Genco-Marcucci and Ronald, Jr. (Emily) Genco of Clinton; her grandchildren, Olivia Haack, Benjamin Hildebrandt, Tierra Hildebrandt, Neveah Hildebrandt, Charles Marcucci IV, Aleenah Marcucci, Ronald "RG" Genco III and Hunter Genco; her great-grandson, Cassius Genco; her son-in-law, Terry Hilldebrandt of Sabula; her brother, Wendell West of Fort Dodge; several nieces and nephews.

Also preceding Karen in death were her daughter, Teri Hildebrandt, brothers, Ron, James, Charles "Butch" and Dennis and sisters, Nancy Behrens, Averilla West, Mary Ebberson and Wendy Cosma.

 A private service will be held at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt with Vicar Sean Avery officiating.  Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Karen's Life at Buzzy's in Welton from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2020.
