Judith Ann (Hiatt) DeWulf was born May 18th, 1941, to Harvey and Francis Hiatt in Orion, Illinois. She was called home by the Lord on Saturday, January 1st, 2023, at the age of 81.
In Orion, Illinois, she grew up with siblings Jim, Janice, and John. Growing up, she was active in band where she played the French horn and accordion. She graduated from Orion High School in 1959.
Judy married David DeWulf of Long Grove, Iowa August 18th, 1962, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rock Island, Illinois. Together they had children Mike, Tom, Brenda, and Brian. Later in life, she married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Gould, until they parted as friends.
Over the years, Judy held varying professions including secretarial work for Clinton County Case Management and St. Joseph Church, bookkeeping, family farming, and school bus driving. She kept herself busy with volunteer social work.
She will continue to be remembered and loved by her children, Michael (Mary) DeWulf of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Thomas (Kimberly) DeWulf of Marion, Iowa, and Brenda (Ryan) Ohrt of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; grandchildren, Brianna (Tyler) Skidmore, Kaitlin DeWulf, Elaina DeWulf, Adrianna (Dillon) Tuttle, Alleah Hilgendorf, Emma Ohrt, Nathan Ohrt; great-grandchild, Austyn Skidmore; siblings, Janice Buchite and John (Luanne) Hiatt.
Preceding Judy in death were her brother, Jim Hiatt, father of her children, David DeWulf, son, Brian DeWulf, and grandson, Brandon DeWulf.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Dewitt. Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the church. Interment of ashes will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, and please join her family at St. Joseph for a luncheon.
