Joyce Wing, 76, of Dixon, Illinois, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, April 14, 2023, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2023, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 22, with visitation one hour prior, at Elvira Zion Lutheran Church. Burial following at Elvira Cemetery.
Joyce Ann Wing was born October 15, 1946, in Clinton, Iowa, the oldest of 3 girls born to Roy and Elizabeth (Langheim) Wing. She grew up on a farm near Elvira, was baptized and confirmed at Elvira Zion Lutheran Church, and was a 1964 graduate of Elvira High School. Joyce studied cosmetology and hairdressing, which she practiced for 29 years. She then worked at A.C. Nielsen in Clinton, Dunn & Bradstreet in Colorado, and Kable News in Morris, Illinois.
Joyce was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Dixon, Illinois, where she helped in the office, was active on the prayer team, and crocheted prayer shawls. She lived for square dancing. She also enjoyed crocheting and cherished time spent with family and friends. Joyce loved snow so much she had it on her license plate.
Surviving are her sisters, Joan (John) McDonald of DeWitt, and Judy (Joel) Alleman of Clinton; nieces and nephews, Carrie (Tony) Faudel, Jennifer (Gary) Burken, JoEllen (Rich) Poll, Kristy Shelly, Stephen (Angie) Shelly, and Cindy (Lars) Vildgaard; great-nieces and nephews, Tyler, Nate, Brandon, Alyssa, Kaitlyn, Lexi, Eli, Malou, Molly, and Marley; great-great-nieces and nephews, Ambrose, Lauryn, and Rafe; as well as other extended family, cousins, and friends who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
