Joyce Arndt, 81, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Friday, October 3, 2025, at Genesis Medical Center-East in Davenport following a brief illness.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:00 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Bettendorf. A Memorial Service will follow at 10:30 a.m. in the church. Rev. Keith Piotter and Rev. Gary Timm officiating. Interment will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in rural Alta, Iowa, at a later date.
Joyce Carmen Lillie was born July 24, 1944, in Oakland, California to Glen and Gladys (Koth) Lillie. She attended St. John’s Lutheran School in rural Alta, Iowa and graduated from high school in Galva, Iowa in 1962. Joyce was united in marriage to Dennis Arndt on December 26, 1966 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural Alta.
Besides spending time with her family and friends, Joyce had a passion for gardening, knitting, reading, baking, watching sports and movies, and caring for her dog, Dusty. She dedicated a large amount of her time to volunteering at church, the Lutheran Home, Meals on Wheels, and mission trips. Joyce is remembered for her selfless deeds and her unending patience and love for everyone she met.
Surviving are her husband, Reverand Dennis Arndt; children, Allen (Michelle) of LeClaire, Kyle (Jackie) of Rochester, Minnesota, Jason A. (Audrey) of Sheffield, and Jason M. (Amber) of Ankeny; grandchildren, Emily, Dylan, Alayna, Cody, Collin (Lexey), Alli (Kendrick) Suntken, Kylie, Aden, Kelsey, and Averie; great-grandchildren, Adalynne, Brynlee, Sawyer, and Amora; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Eugene, and a granddaughter, Jordyn.
